Hello Members, Friends, Sponsors and Supporters,
Here is a quick update on a few things that are going on around the club.
First and most important is a date change for the member’s dinner and first general meeting of the year. We overlooked the fact that the Houston Rodeo Cook off is the last Friday of this month, and we scheduled a meeting over the top of it. With so many of our members actively involved in this event, we are pushing our meeting back one week to the Friday of March 5th, 2010. This will also give the officers and execs a little more time to get a few planning issues worked out for presentation at this event. More details to follow.
Scott has been very busy updating the website. The current events calendar has been updated, so check that out and reserve those dates for some great TOPPS events this year.
Tom has been very busy updating our merchandise inventory and making plans for some welcome additions to our product offerings this year.
Chad has updated our 2009 books, and readied the club for our 2009 tax return.
As a whole, we have been getting the club ready to begin E - commerce operations. Those of you who have been asking for the opportunity to pre register for events, buy merchandise and pay online will soon have the opportunity to do so. This is a huge undertaking by us all and especially Scott, Tom, and Chad so please be supportive as they are going through a lot of stress to bring us out of the Stone Age and into the modern world. It is an investment of time and capital that I think will make it a lot easier for us to all enjoy the club and lessen the workload of the officers and execs in the future.
Wayland, myself and the rest of the officers and exec’s would like to thank all of you who have sent in your 2010 dues and membership contracts early this year. We are very glad that you are all returning for another great year, and promises even better events and activities for the year. Keep in mind that our secretary has resigned as secretary for this year. She picked up some new job responsibilities that are taking time away from her ability to fully handle the responsibilities that TOPPS requires. If any of you have some time to help us with some of the week to week operations or are familiar with our state compliance paperwork, we would appreciate any help.
Thanks for your time.
Sincerely,
Jeff Gregory

I would like to take this time to formally thank you for your generous donation of $4,660.00 to Children’s Safe Harbor. Your continued support and thoughtfulness is sincerely appreciated. Every team member of the Harbor graciously extends a heartfelt thank you for your contribution.
We are dedicated to the mission of providing a safe, child-friendly environment for victims of child abuse during the investigation process. Your charitable donation helps us to stay focused on our mission.
Children’s Safe Harbor plays a unique role in facilitating communication between those agencies involved in the handling of child abuse cases. Through the multi-disciplinary team approach, children are not further traumatized by the “system.”
Since our first forensic interview on August 31, 1998, over 6,000 children and their families have been served at Children’s Safe Harbor. Your support will help us continue to make the sexually abused children and their families our priority.
Our federal tax identification number is 76-0388402. Thank you so very much for your support of Children’s Safe Harbor. It takes an entire community to end child abuse. Thank you for aiding us in our work.
Sincerely,
Lezlie Nedelka
Financial Coordinator
Children’s Safe Harbor’s mission is to protect and enhance the life of every child who has the courage to battle sexual and physical abuse.

As I am sure most of you have heard all ready, we lost our long time friend and brother in the power boating world yesterday morning. Jerry Davis passed from this world Sunday morning. For those of you who did not know, Jerry had been battling cancer for quite a while now. It was a well fought battle on his part. I understand from talking to his brother Max that just a few weeks ago he was still out in his shop enjoying his work and tinkering with the race boat.
We will miss his presence in our community. He could hang it out there on the ragged edge better than the rest of them. He was a valuable member of the business community as well.
Arrangements are as follows. Viewing will be at Metcalf Wed. from 5 – 8 p.m. Funeral services will be @ Lone Star Cowboy Church on 105 Thurs, @ 2 p.m. Grave side service to follow at Cashner on 3083.
I am making arrangements for a floral spread to be sent on behalf of TOPPS. If any of you wish to help with the cost, please mail your checks to the club address.
